The Origins of "May Day In Woodmancote"

The first "May Day in Woodmancote" was organised by the Woodmancote Society and took place in 1983.

In 1987, to ease the load on the Woodmancote Society, a new May Day Committee (MDC) was formed from a mix of Society & Non-Society people.

This arrangement continued up to 2005, when by mutual consent the two committees agreed to officially recognise the independence of the May Day Committee and to break the 22 year link there had been with the Woodmancote Society.
